Champion of Torm

The Champion of Torm is a divine warrior prestige class: full attack progression, a d10 hit die, and a small kit of once-per-day divine abilities. Two of those abilities have been reworked for Wyrdwood — Divine Wrath and Lay on Hands.

Divine Wrath

Gained at Champion of Torm level 5. Usable once per day.

You channel your god's power, gaining a single bonus that applies to your attack rolls, your weapon damage, and all of your saving throws at once — plus resistance to divine damage and a pool of temporary hit points.

Scaling

Everything scales on Champion of Torm class levels, not total character level.

Champion of Torm levelAttack / damage / savesDivine damage immunity
1–9+210%
10–14+320%
15–19+440%
20–24+560%
25–29+680%
30++8100%

Temporary hit points: Champion of Torm level × 4.

Duration: Charisma modifier × 4 minutes.

So a Champion of Torm 18 with a +10 Charisma modifier gets +4 attack, +4 divine weapon damage, +4 to all saves, 40% divine damage immunity and 72 temporary hit points, for 40 minutes.

Notes

  • The bonus damage is divine damage, added to every weapon hit.
  • You must have a positive Charisma modifier to use the ability at all.
  • Using Divine Wrath while it is already active replaces the existing effect rather than stacking with it. Re-activating also clears your current temporary hit points before granting the new pool, so firing it again early is a net loss if your temporary hit points are still full.
  • The effect is supernatural — it cannot be dispelled.

Lay on Hands

Champion of Torm levels add to your Paladin levels for Lay on Hands. A Paladin 12 / Champion of Torm 18 counts as level 30 for this ability.

Combined Paladin + Champion of Torm levelEffect
1–19Heals combined level × Charisma modifier hit points
20–29Heals the target to full
30+Heals the target to full and removes negative status effects

Used on an undead target, Lay on Hands is delivered as a melee touch attack that damages instead of heals.

Unchanged from the base game

These work as they always have; they are listed here so you know they were not touched:

  • Sacred Defense (level 2, improving every two levels) — a divine bonus to all saving throws.
  • Smite Evil (level 3) — once per day.
  • Bonus feats at level 11 and beyond.
  • Full attack bonus progression, d10 hit die, 2 skill points per level.

A note on Divine Might and Divine Shield

Champion of Torm does not grant Turn Undead, so these two feats are only available to you if you also carry Cleric, Paladin or Blackguard levels. Their durations scale off those class levels, not your Champion of Torm levels — see the relevant class page.
