Shadowdancer

Shadow Evade

Shadow Evade scales with both Shadowdancer level and the character's Hide skill.

Duration: 5 minutes, plus 1 minute per 3 Shadowdancer levels.

AC: +4 (flat, always).

Concealment

Base concealment is 20%, plus 1% per point of Hide skill above 20 (up to +40% from Hide).

The total is capped based on Shadowdancer level:

SD LevelConcealment cap
1–1440%
15–1950%
20+60%

Damage Reduction

DR equals your Shadowdancer level. The enchantment level required to bypass it scales with your level:

SD LevelWeapon bonus to bypass DR
1–10+5
11–20+6
21–25+8
26–30+10

The DR will break down after absorbing a total of 5 × Hide skill points of melee damage.

Notes

  • Shadow Evade bypasses magic immunity.
  • Recasting while already active replaces the existing effect.

Shadow Daze (level 3)

Shadow Daze is a weapon coating, not a spell you aim at someone. Activating it sheathes your weapons in shadow, and while the coating lasts, every creature you land a hit on risks being frozen in place.

  • Duration: 5 turns, plus 1 turn per Shadowdancer level (1 turn = 1 minute)
  • Uses: once per day
  • On every hit: the creature you struck must make a Will save (DC 10 + your Shadowdancer level + your Intelligence modifier) or be dazed for 5 rounds
  • Coats both weapons if you dual wield, and your gloves if you fight unarmed. It needs a melee weapon — a bow will not take the coating.

Notes

  • The save carries no mind-affecting descriptor, so undead, constructs and other mind-immune creatures still have to roll for it instead of ignoring it outright. A creature immune to the daze effect itself still shrugs it off.
  • A creature that is already dazed is skipped, so it does not re-roll the save on every swing — the daze cannot be chained indefinitely off one coating.
  • Allies are never affected.
  • Shadow Daze stacks with your other weapon coatings — Shadow Strike's negative damage, or a multiclass Contagion or Arcane Channeling. Each one rolls separately on the same hit.

Shadow Strike (level 25)

Sheathes both of your weapons in draining shadow, adding +1 negative energy damage on hit for every five Shadowdancer levels. Lasts 1 turn per Shadowdancer level (1 turn = 1 minute). Usable once per day.

Greater Shadow Strike (level 35)

Mastery of Shadow Strike grants two additional uses per day (three total). The weapon buff is otherwise identical to Shadow Strike.
