Gem Socketing
Socketed items have open slots that can be filled with gems to add permanent item properties. Items with available sockets will have a number in parenthesis in the name of the item.
Socket Types
There are two categories of sockets:
| Type | Used on |
|---|---|
| Weapon socket | Weapons and staves |
| Gear socket | Armor, shields, helms, jewelry, cloaks |
A gem must match the socket type — weapon gems go in weapon sockets, gear gems go in gear sockets.
Identifying Socketed Items
Socketed items show their current gem contents in their description. Open the item description to see how many slots are filled and what properties each gem provides.
Socket Gems
Gems are found in loot and can have many properties. Gems can be stored and combined in the Gem Bank which is an option in the PC Wand. You can also use gems on gems of equal property and value to increase the value. For example, a +1 AC gem and another +1 AC gem can be combined to make +2 AC. You just use the item on the other item of equal value.
Gear Gem Properties
Gems can add properties including (but not limited to):
