Death
When you die in Wyrdwood, the death panel opens and you can choose to respawn or wait for help for as long as you'd like. If you choose to respawn, then you will be sent to Death to meet the Warden.
Death Options
The warden of Death gives you a free pass up through level 7, at that point he charges a cost to return.
| Option | XP Cost | Gold Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free exit | None | None | No penalty through level 7 |
| XP only | 6% of total XP | None | Always available |
| XP + Gold | 3% of total XP | ~50% of gold-only cost | Requires enough gold |
| Gold only | None | 200% of current XP (min 100,000 gp) | Requires enough gold |
The gold-only option has a hard floor of 100,000 gold. If you cannot afford the gold options, you must use the XP-only option.
XP Loss and Debt
XP loss from death cannot push you below the start of your current level. If the penalty would do so, the difference becomes XP debt instead. While debt is active, incoming XP pays off the debt first before contributing to your level progress. Your floating XP text shows the current debt.
Respawn Location
You respawn at the Spring of Life in Wyrdwood.
Branch of Life
A rare Branch of Life item can automatically raise you 60 seconds after death. If you have one in your inventory, you should see a message pop up and then eventually a 10 second countdown. If you respawn before the 60 seconds, then it will cancel the timer and you will be sent to Death.
